Lauren – First, you rock. Second, I lack motivation for cooking even though I enjoy it, so I read your recipes and say, “I’m totally gonna try that later!” and never do…but they all sound fantastic! Mom, of course, keeps telling me to make your stuff. Anyway – I was browsing P.W’s blog recently (because again, I love reading about cooking, just never get around to doing it) and she’s got recipe cards at the end of her cooking posts. What a good idea right? Have you thought about doing something like that on your blog? So people like me can hoard un-used recipes as well?? I’m totally going to have the best “family recipe stash” ever to pass on to my children
Keep up the delicious work, I love reading!

I love the attitude you have adapted toward your body, your spirit and your well-being. It is hard. My perfectly proportioned, healthy, gorgeous 13 year old grand daughter is already feeling the pressure. She and her peers are being set up with some very harmful messages. The food companies scream out their commercials about their tasty, luscious, grand portioned, unhealthy food, glamorize overeating and overindulging, They show heaping bowls overflowing with ice cream or whatever they have to sell, and quietly print on the package that each portion is only a fraction of what is being seen on television. The fashion world glamorizes everything they have to sell too, and skinny is one of them. It is a can’t win situation we’ve been set up with. Mixed messages are confusing for growing minds. tweens and teens see huge portions , and rail thin people hawking them. That tells them that they too can eat a LOT of junk and still be sticks. Its unfair. Kids do not stand a chance. Parents can do a lot and blogs like yours offer lots of fresh ideas and I have renewed hope. Thank you. I surely will be trying many of your wonderful ideas myself. I can’t wait to get started!

I wanted to thank you for your wonderful and healthy recipes. I moved to the central mountains of Mexico almost a year ago. Though health, fresh, and organic veggies are plentiful, they are not always convenient. This is the land of sugar and carbs. Your simple and lovely recipes use ingredients I can actually find here, and can make quickly. I am so happy to have found your blog and hope it helps me to make it easier to make yummy healthy food. Gracias!

[...] So I have been on a baking spree to satiate my cravings….there was a German Apple Cake recipe I found in the blogworld. Unfortunately I cannot remember where and it kinda got over tooooo fast for me to share a pic. However, I did take a pic of what I like to call the Mocha Banana Bread, a recipe adapted from here.
